We assists owners, architects and engineers to conduct review and investigation of existing masonry assemblies. Following these reviews, a summary report is compiled to include findings, photo documentation, documentation of existing conditions, repair recommendations and options. Budgetary concerns are addressed as well as potential repair alternatives.
Project Team:
Caretti Inc has been active in the concrete and masonry construction, repair and restoration industry since 1959. All work involving the repair, restoration and/or preservation of stone, terra cotta, concrete and brick masonry assemblies is directly managed and performed by Caretti’s Restoration and Preservation Division managed and staffed by employees specifically trained and experienced in the restoration field. On select repair/installation projects, technicians employed by Caretti’s new construction division and experienced in the techniques and/or materials required of that project may be utilized in conjunction with the firm’s full time restoration technicians as necessary to meet scheduling requirements, labor needs, etc… In all cases, projects undertaken by the restoration division are managed in-house by full time employees of Caretti Restoration and Preservation Services, LLC.
Team Demographics:
Caretti, Inc. was founded in 1959 and incorporated under the laws of the State of Pennsylvania. Since that time, due to the growth of the firm within the industry a secondary facility was opened in 1997 in Woodbine, Md. to specifically focus on projects in the Baltimore/Washington DC corridor. Additionally, a separate facility was subsequently opened approximately 8 years ago in Berwick, Pa. as an independent division out of which to operate all restoration, repair and preservation projects performed by the firm. Prior to that time, all work undertaken by the firm, both new construction and restoration were performed under the guidance of the corporate facility in Camp Hill, Pa. however, due to a significant growth in the scope and volume of work being performed, it was determined that restoration activities could be more efficiently managed from an independent facility. Each office location is staffed and manned with personnel specifically trained in the new construction and/or masonry restoration and repair fields respectively.
Key Personnel:
Caretti Restoration and Preservation Services, LLC currently employs approximately 50 full time restoration technicians who are each trained and experienced in the installation and restoration techniques required within the industry. Caretti, Inc. currently employs in excess of 240 masonry technicians of whom approximately 35 are classified as specialized stone masonry carvers and technicians. All operations undertaken by Caretti R&P are directly managed and supervised by the Division Manager,
Project Manager, Operations Manager, Field Superintendent and select site foreman. Additional assistance, when required, to address scheduling concerns and/or labor force requirements is provided by technicians employed by Caretti’s Maryland Branch Facility and new construction division. At present, approximately 290 journeyman mechanics are employed between our two divisions thereby allowing Caretti the resources necessary to perform project’s secured by each division within required time frames.
• The Division Manager, Robert Gensel has 27 years experience in the masonry restoration field. Additionally the firms Special Projects Manager, Mr. John Montecalvo and the Field Superintendant, Mr. Stanley Hepler have worked solely in the restoration field for over 23 years each. Recently, an additional Project Manager, Mr. Bill Lecher a 20 year employee of Caretti, Inc. has been reassigned to the restoration division to address the continued growth of the division. Each has been trained and certified in specific techniques and materials including Jahn repair materials, architectural cleaning of historic structures, dutchman repairs, historic masonry restoration, stone masonry repair, concrete repair methods and materials, fluid applied coatings, retrofit anchor installation other such techniques typically required within the restoration field.
• Facilities: Caretti’s restoration facility and warehouse are located in Berwick, Pa. along with a subsidiary branch located in Woodbine, Md. Caretti’s new construction division and corporate headquarters are headquartered in Camp Hill, Pa. In conjunction, these facilities afford the firm efficient access to all storage facilities, trucking and equipment as necessary to perform all projects in an efficient manner.
